THE CEREMONY
The Mansion offers a bridal suite with a further three bedrooms for guests of the bride and groom. A delicious breakfast is included for overnight residents. Cirencester and its surrounding villages offer a range of hotels, bed and breakfasts, holiday cottages and pubs with rooms for extended friends and family.
The Mansion lies close to the centre of Cirencester and is a stone’s throw from the town's striking Parish Church. This proximity to the historic place of worship is perfect, and the bride and groom may enjoy walking back to their reception from the church, cheered on by the inevitable crowds that will gather, along the length of Blackjack Street that connects the church to the Mansion.
RECEPTION
The bride and groom may greet their guests in the front hall under the watchful eye of The Duke of Wellington, riding his horse Copenhagen – one of the most famous of Wellingtons portraits by Thomas Lawrence. The sweeping staircase presents the perfect setting for formal photographs.
The Smoking Room with its historic portraits and furniture offer the perfect reception area. During colder months, a roaring fire makes the day cosy and welcoming. In the summer months, the reception rooms lead onto the terrace and your guests will be able to enjoy their champagne in the sunshine, overlooking the rose garden and the lawns beyond.
Other rooms available for use include the Library, the Drawing Room, and the formal Dining Room.

a life time
The land that now comprises the stunning Cirencester Park came into the Bathurst family in 1695 when Sir Benjamin Bathurst bought it for his son Allen; it has remained with the family ever since.
Allen became the Ist Earl Bathurst in 1772. The Earl built himself a new mansion at his Cirencester estate on the site of Oakley Grove, a Tudor house previously belonging to the Danvers family. The Earl was strongly interested in the arts and literature, and the home became an intellectual and cultural centre where he entertained friends to include leading writers such as Alexander Pope, Jonathan Swift and Laurence Sterne. Alexander Pope helped design the breathtaking Park vistas that are still enjoyed today.
