The Bathurst Estate and Cirencester Park are a venue for a wide range of activities, where locals and visitors can immerse themselves in a natural and historic setting. Whether you want to enjoy the Grade I listed landscape on foot or horseback, learn more about the history of the Estate, its Mansion, follies and vistas, or simply enjoy one the many refreshment oppportunities – there’s plenty on offer.
Dogs are welcome. Cirencester is one of the most dog-friendly destinations in England, and Cirencester Park is no exception. You can pamper your pooch at The Old Kennels Dog Wash, indulge them with a puppy icecream at the Beano Café or explore the extensive walking routes. We ask that dogs are kept on leads in the designated areas, that you clean up using the bins provided, and that you keep your dogs under control.

GETTING HERE & ACCESSIBILITY
Transport. The Bathurst Estate and Cirencester Park are located in the market town of Cirencester, Gloucestershire. The town has good transport links to London by rail, and to the M4 and M5 by road. Cirencester Park is accessibly on foot from the town centre or from the car park at The Old Kennels. Alternatively, you can park in one of Cirencester's many public car parks, and make your way on foot to Cirencester Park.
Accessibility. The Old Kennels (GL7 1UR) offers disabled parking spaces; accessible parking can be arranged in advance for visitors to Roots+Seeds Kitchen Garden Restaurant, a ground floor café and restaurant. Accessible paths lead to Cirencester Park where the main avenues are accessible with pushchairs and wheelchairs; much of the terrain is flat or gently sloping. The Old Kennels offers disabled a disabled toilet off accessible courtyards.
A single registered carer can enter the Mansion free when accompanying a disabled person.
EAT & DRINK
Cirencester Park is home to the much-loved Beano Café, an American airstream set in the iconic location of Broad Avenue, close to Cecily Hill. Here you can enjoy take-away cakes and sausage rolls to go with Barista-style coffee, tea and the best hot chocolate in Cirencester. The perfect pit stop during your walk in Cirencester Park. Picnic benches are available. Entry to Cirencester Park is required.
For those looking to take a seat, The Old Kennels offers a variety of spots, from the picnic area in The Jubilee Arbortum to the fabulous and fun interior of Roots+Seeds Kitchen Garden. Roots+Seeds also offer Deli Boxes for those looking to take home local produce.
SHOP & PLAY
As well as plenty of places to eat and drink, The Old Kennels has a selection of shops including the award-winning microbrewey Corinium Ales, and Lily Antiques. While you shop, children can enjoy the nature-inspired outdoor play area, or explore The Jubilee Arboretum beside it.
WHAT TO DO IN CIRENCESTER PARK
Cirencester Park offers visitors a fantastic day out. Explore the Park's historic highlights by following a recommended route that takes in the follies and vistas; an audio tour with Lord Bathurst is available to purchase at the ticket office. For families wanting to learn more about the natural life of the Park, the Coronation Carving is a great place to start, or explore the woodland fairy trail and ball run! The Mansion Tours, led by expert Cirencester guides, offer an insight to the estate's 18th-century history and present day.
Equestrians can enjoy miles of uninterrupted Riding in the Park or take in one of the annual horse trials. Dog-walkers can explore designated routes through woodlands while sports lovers may wish to find out more about the historic sporting clubs in the heart of the Park; from a day out at the Polo to the tennis and cricket clubs.
In addition, there is a lively programme of events throughout the year at The Old Kennels and in Cirencester Park. Entrance to Cirencester Park requires a Day or Annual Pass.
WHERE TO STAY
Cirencester is one of the most celebrated places to live and is a popular base for exploring the Cotswolds. Rich in history, from the Romans to Cirencester Park's 18th-century landscape, bustling with independent shops and markets, a stone's throw from picturesque villages the Cotswold Waterpark, there is much to explore in the town, Cirencester Park and further afield. Planning an overnight is a great idea.
Across the Bathurst Estate, we offer idyllic dog-friendly holiday lettings. Cirencester Park is home to the much-loved Caravan and Motorhome Club; guests here enjoy free access to the Park. While Cirencester offers good selection of independent hotels, many of the characteristic pubs such as The Bell at Sapperton offer accommodation.
