From January 2023, visitors can enjoy a new network of signed, permissive routes in Hailey Wood that connect with existing public rights.
With an increase in the number of walkers in Hailey Wood in recent years, the Bathurst Estate has seen a notable impact to ecologically important areas required for ground nesting birds, butterflies and orchids. To limit this damage in the wider woodland, the Estate is increasing signs and notices to ensure walkers and riders can continue to use Hailey Wood finding the permitted routes with ease, thus reducing the use of sensitive habitats.
Horse riders can access Hailey Wood when displaying a valid Annual or Day Riding Pass that can be purchased via Estate’s website.
Dog walkers are kindly asked to help in the efforts to protect the woodland by keeping dogs on leads at all times when on permitted routes.
