From the 15th March 2024, anyone wishing to walk in Cirencester Park during the opening hours will need a Pass. Three types of entry pass are being introduced to sit alongside the Riding in the Park Pass, with members of the local community continuing to enjoy free access daily. All Passholders can continue year-round walks in Cirencester Park in the areas shown in a new, improved visitor map.
Cirencester Park Community Pass is available to all residents within Gloucestershire postcodes: GL7 0, GL7 1, GL7 2, GL7 5, GL7 6 and GL7 7 and the villages of Edgworth, Frampton Mansell, Ashton Keynes and Latton.
Community Passholders can continue to access Cirencester Park free of charge, on foot, during the Passholder Opening Hours (08.00–17.00 daily, unless otherwise announced).
A Community Pass will give the holder access at four automated pedestrian gates: Cecily Hill, Windsor Walk, Barton Lane and by Cirencester Park Caravan & Motorhome Club.
A Community Pass requires a one-off deposit of £10 (per Pass) and can be applied for as a household or an individual.
Cirencester Park Annual Pass is available toanyone living outside the Community Pass designated area. Annual Passholders can access Cirencester Park by way of the four automated pedestrian gates during the Passholder Opening hours in the same way as a Community Passholder.
Students enrolled at Cirencester Deer Park School, Cirencester College and the Royal Agricultural University (RAU) can apply for a discounted Student Pass.
Cirencester Park Day Pass
Available to anyone visiting Cirencester Park, a Day Pass will be available to purchase via The Bathurst Estate website or at the ticket office at Cecily Hill Gates and on Windsor Walk, reached from The Old Kennels.
A Day Pass allows the visitor to enter Cirencester Park from 10am to 5pm, with last entry at 4.30pm.
With dog-friendly walking routes, far-reaching vistas, avenues, and woodlands, as well as attractive follies and buildings, the historic Grade-I listed Cirencester Park is a much-loved place for locals and visitors from further afield.
The Bathurst Estate is committed to improving the visitor experience within Cirencester Park with the provision of new facilities, information points, family friendly spaces such as a children’s play area and the picnic arboretum at The Old Kennels, while retaining the character of a Grade I listed parkland.
The management and maintenance of Estates and private parklands is ever evolving, with landowners embracing new ways to ensure continuity in their conservation and preservation works; Cirencester Park is no different. The introduction of Passes will support this, as well as the work of those employed to ensure the Park is safe, that pathways are well-maintained and visitor areas are clean, interesting, and enjoyable.

This year, we will continue our important conservation work, with Phase II of the Broad Avenue Restoration Project starting in the autumn. The introduction of Passes supports these important projects as well as the effective maintenance of pathways, woodlands, grasslands and monuments so we can continue to protect and preserve the important heritage, natural capital and biodiversity within the Park for all. Regulars will notice new information points, signs and maps, with suggested walking routes and interesting facts about the Park, its history, activities and wildlife as well as a striking wood carving that captures all its wonderful aspects.”
How to apply for a Pass
Passes will be available to pre-order online or at the ticket office close to Cecily Hill Gates.

Proof of eligibility is required at the time of application of a Community Passes and Student Pass. Once application is successful, Passes will be delivered by post. They will be needed to access the Park once the gates are activated from Friday 15th March 2024.
The Old Kennels
A Pass is not required to visit The Old Kennels, its facilities including Roots+Seeds Kitchen Garden, the shops, play area and Jubilee Community Arboretum picnic area. The picnic area is open daily from 8am to 5pm.
Riding in the Park
It is possible to enjoy miles of uninterrupted riding routes in Cirencester Park, with horse box parking available at Greenhill Equitation at Overley Stables.
