Fundraising Day at Cirencester Park

This Saturday 13th June, Visitors to Cirencester Park will be making a difference to the lives of young people with disabilities.

The Bathurst Estate has chosen leading Gloucestershire-based disability charity National Star as its charity partner for its first Fundraising Day, taking place on Saturday 13th June at Cirencester Park.

The Estate will donate all profits from visitor entry fees on the day. Community Pass holders also can make a donation to help support the charity’s vital work.

National Star, based at Ullenwood, provides education, care and support to young adults with complex disabilities and learning difficulties.

Of the Fundraising Day, Lord Apsley says: ”On behalf of Cirencester Park and the wider Bathurst Estate, I am delighted to welcome National Star to the first of our Park Charity Fundraising Days. It is my hope that we will raise awareness and vital funds for this local charity in their mission to help young people with disabilities realise their potential through education. Please visit the Park and donate generously!”

National Star has not received any capital funding for its facilities for more than a decade. It is thanks to community support that the charity can provide specialist facilities designed to support young adults with disabilities.

“Students have been able to improve their mobility and strength through new state-of-the-art physiotherapy equipment,” says Monica Farthing, Fundraiser at National Star.

“We would not have this equipment without the generous support of the community. As a result of the equipment one student has recently taken their first steps in the aquatic therapy pool, something that no one thought would be possible for them.We are very appreciative to the Bathurst Estate for choosing to support National Star with their Park Charity Fundraising Day.”

Volunteers from National Star will be in Cirencester Park throughout the day, collecting donations by cash or card and offering visitors the chance to learn more about how the charity is making a difference to young people with complex disabilities.
