The Tunnel House Inn in Coates, Cirencester is due to reopen in Spring/ Summer 2026. It joins The Bell at Sapperton as one of two pubs owned by The Bathurst Estate to be run by Peacefield Pubs Ltd, a well-established operator in the Cirencester area.
After 5 years of closure, The Tunnel House Inn is undergoing refurbishment before opening its doors once more as a public house with a wholesome food offering. Building works started at the end of October 2025, including work to re-establish the car park.
The Tunnel House Inn sits in the stunning countryside beside the dormant Thames and Severn Canal and a majestic tunnel portal. Visitors to the pub can make the most of footpaths through the neighbouring Hailey Wood, as well as the Thames and Severn Way and beyond. The team at The Tunnel House look forward to opening its doors once more to provide classic Cotswold pub charm to all who pass through.
