Our letting process
Shared Values, Personal Service
We welcome clients who care about the community and environment in which they live, and we operate a personalised process from enquiry to letting, and throughout your tenancy.
Viewing
On first contact, we’ll discuss your needs and once we feel a property is the right fit, we will arrange a viewing accompanied by one of our friendly team.
Tenancy Application and References
After viewing, if you wish to proceed and are successful, you will be invited to the Estate office to run through all the requirements for a tenancy application. We will undertake the required reference checks and following the meeting, we will send a letter outlining the offer and the terms on which it is based.
Deposit and Rent
To secure a property, we ask for one week’s rent as a holding deposit while we complete the reference checks. Once completed and successful, the legal paperwork is prepared, and we will agree a date to move in.
A deposit and the first month’s rent are to be paid in advance of signing your tenancy agreement.

Professional Property Maintenance
Property is at the core of the Estate; with over 250 residential, commercial, and agricultural buildings, our team has a wealth of experience looking after a diverse portfolio, including older properties.
Working alongside a range of regular and specialist contractors, we ensure our properties are managed and maintained to a safe, high standard and that they meet legislative requirements.
We strive to partner with local skilled trades who assist with everything from fixing dripping taps to full refurbishments of empty properties in addition to a planned schedule of routine works, such as exterior decoration.
As a result, many of our tenants enjoy happy, long tenancies in well-looked-after properties.
Charitable housing
The Bathurst Family is closely involved with two charitable organisations in Cirencester offering almshouses: St Lawrence Housing Charity and St John's Hospital. For more information and to enquire.
