Sir Benjamin Bathurst purchased the current Cirencester Estate in the heart of the Cotswolds in 1695; it remains in the Bathurst Family today and is home to The 9th Earl and Countess Bathurst.
The Bathurst Estate in Cirencester comprises businesses including property lettings, property development, farming, forestry, leisure and hospitality. Each area of the business works to enhance and preserve the Estate for today and tomorrow for those who depend on it for their livelihood, as their home and for the simple enjoyment of its natural environment.
The Bathurst Estate's Property portfolio includes tenanted residential and commercial properties and property development including attractive new homes in Cirencester and its surrounding villages of Kemble and Coates. The Steadings is a new neighbourhood for Cirencester with a pipeline of 2350 homes including affordable, employment area and primary school.
The Bathurst Estate's Woodlands comprise 3000 acres forming one of the largest and most beautiful woodland tracts in the Cotswolds. It is managed as a priority habitat with an emphasis on biodiversity enhancement and protection.
Bathurst Estate Farming is responsible for over 4000 hectares; its produce includes a combination of winter wheat, oil seed rape, grass, spring and winter barley, maize and beans, rotated around the Estate to ensure a long-term sustainability.
The Grade-I listed Cirencester Park is one of the most beautiful private parklands in England, open to visitors throughout the year.

THE TEAM
The Bathurst Estate is guided by Trustees, and is under the stewardship of The 9th Earl Bathurst and his son Lord Apsley. The Bathurst Estate's business units are led by Peter Clegg (CEO) and a Senior Management Team. Together with their teams, they work collaboratively with a network of local businesses and the community of Cirencester.
CIRENCESTER PARK
The Grade I listed Cirencester Park sits at the heart of The Bathurst Estate and is a stunning heritage destination open to visitors every day of the year for leisure activities to include walking, horse riding, events and more. The Old Kennels at Cirencester Park is a welcoming visitor destination with car parking, restaurant and brewery, children's play area, and retail.
